Why Therapy?

Complex trauma is so common in our modern world.  Most people have some impact from it, and may not even be aware of it.  Complex Trauma robs people of their confidence, self esteem, and ability to thrive and shine in life.  It leaves people feeling insecure, anxious, depressed, struggling with relationships, and often triggers people into shame spirals where they just feel like everything is unsafe, overwhelming, and out of control.  When the hard feelings get triggered, often people struggling with complex trauma will reach for things to numb the pain such as overworking, constant activity, drinking excessively, eating too much or not eating enough, shopping, over exercising, sleep problems, and much more.  These coping strategies keep us separate from our wise authentic self, and help us avoid our painful inner feelings, fears, and thoughts.

How Does Therapy Help?

Healing from trauma allows you to authentically connect back to yourself so that you can learn to be your own best supporter as you go through life.  Instead of shutting down your internal voice and needs, you will embrace them with love and compassion.  This world can be tough, but connecting confidently to your internal instincts brings a sense of security and peace that we cannot always find in the outside world.  Healing is a process, and as Joseph Campbell says, it is a "Hero's Journey."  It takes courage and strength to do this work, and yet, it is so worth it.  When you feel ready, contact me below for a free consultation to begin your healing journey.
